“Girls, Women and Science: Making the Invisible Visible”

Participation of the Open Science Initiative Lübeck (Sören Krach) at the French embassy in Berlin on “Making the Invisible Visible: a French-German Dialogue on the Place of Women in Science”

We are happy that Prof. Sören Krach was invited to the event on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, hosted by the French Embassy in Berlin, Germany. During the next two days, researchers from many different disciplines meet in Berlin to discuss how to increase female representation in science. With the work on current funding allocation systems, he may provide a novel perspective in this group of selected experts.

Abstract:

The Workshop on Women in Science: Towards a French-German Agenda? aims at facilitating dialogue among experts from various backgrounds, in order to reflect on possible actions within the French-German context concerning women in science, thereby contributing to integrating the issue of girls and women in science into the priorities of the bilateral agenda. More precisely, the workshop aims to conclude with questions that should be addressed in the French-German context and concrete proposition of actions that can be implemented in France and/or Germany, with -when needed- the support of the French Embassy in Germany.
